Express Gate to Launch on Selected ASUS Notebooks This Month
It was one of PC World’s 25 most innovative products of 2007, and it’s only available from ASUS. Express Gate is a groundbreaking mini-operating system built in to selected ASUS notebooks and motherboards. Express Gate pops up the instant the system is powered on, and it enables users to access the Internet, instant messenger, Skype, online games, music, photos and more within seconds.

Applications
When the Express Gate screen comes up, users can then either proceed directly to Windows, or can access a wide range of applications in the Express Gate environment:

Internet:  The Express Gate browser is based on Firefox 2 and supports Flash 9. With restricted hard drive access, it is more secure than web surfing within the operating system.

Email:  Check your online-accessible email anytime.  Indispensable for business travelers in mobile mode needing to check emails or directions while in a cab or at the airport.

E-Music:  Users can listen to the digital music stored on the hard drive or external storage media as easily as they could on an FM radio.

Photos:  Browse through photos on your computer, create albums, view slide shows, and upload photos to the Internet.

Chat:  Express Gate enables Instant communication on the go with instant messages or Skype.  Calling other PCs with Skype is free, while Skype calls made to landlines and cell phones around the world are inexpensive.

Sharing:  Friends and family can use your notebook to go online, use IM, listen to music and view photos all without access to your data in the Windows environment!
